Tim Carter discusses some of the uses of tablesaws and shares his table saw tips. A table saw can help you rip lumber and make difficult cuts. These tips will help you get the most from your power tool.
Table saws are multi-purpose, powerful power tools. You can rip a very long piece of lumber. The table saw fence guide will give you a straight cut very time. Use of the cross-cut guide to cut short pieces to the proper length. Angle cuts are also possible.
Table saws can be dangerous, be careful when working around the exposed blade. Don't wear any loose clothing when working with the saw. A long sleeve shirt, with a loose cuff, could get caught in the blade, pulling your arm into it.
The saw should be unplugged any time you are making adjustments. Finally, if you are making narrow cuts, use a small piece of wood, with a notch, as a pusher. Keep your fingers away from the blade!
Safety glasses, or other eye protection, and earplugs should be worn when operating a table saw. Table saws are very loud and you could suffer hearing loss after long term exposure. Observe these safety tips when working with your table saw.
